It may be easy to assume that things like money and a luxurious lifestyle lead to happiness, although research reveals that it is those simple experiences that promote days filled with sunny skies.
I have discovered that whether I need a shift from negative thoughts or want to continue a streak of positive vibes, these are the five things that boost my happiness daily.
Happiness is contagious!
Here are the 4 things that make me happy…..
1. Exercise
My physical wellness connects to my mental wellness. Taking care of my body and offering it some kind of physical activity every single day creates a consistent ‘feel good about myself, everyone and everything else in my life’.
2. Be kind
I feel it is important to recognise that doing small gestures for others – like sending a message, baking a cake for a friend or doing a favour for a colleague – goes farther than we think. Choose kindness every day – your happiness will definitely improve. Practicing regular acts of kindness adds to my life satisfaction.
3. Surround yourself with people you love
I chose to spend time with those I love. Why spend time with people who make you feel bad about yourself, or with toxic people? I choose my circle carefully and surround myself with those that I care about and love. I certainly found that I experience a lot less negative energy than I would otherwise. I also get to build real relationships with those I genuinely care about.
4. Practice Daily Gratitude
Just like kindness, being grateful goes a much longer way than we ever think it does. Simply thanking people for their work and showing those you love that you appreciate them actually resonates with people much more than we think. I found that the more I express my gratefulness for the work others do, the better they execute their work.
